(s)HE GOES ALL THE WAY
Rascal Flatts
No limits, no lines are drawn
The whole world disappears when we're alone
That thin white cotton dress
is blowin' in the wind
he takes my hand
and the dance begins
With every move he makes
I'm deeper than I've been
Holding on and letting go
he just keeps givin' in
Takin' me higher and further
There he goes again
Givin' more than he takes
'Cause it's more than love he makes
he goes all the way
No questions, no talking at all
Only the sound of our hearts as they fall
No matter what I need,
his answer's always yes
I only have to dream
and he does the rest
With every move he makes
I'm deeper than I've been
Holding on and letting go
he just keeps givin' in
Takin' me higher and further
There he goes again
Givin' more than he takes
'Cause it's more than love he makes
he goes all the way
My baby goes all the way.

WEIRDNESS GALORE
I got this from Carl.
“Each player of this game starts with 6 weird things about himself or herself. People who get tagged need to write a blog entry of their own as well as state the rule clearly. In the end, you need to tag 6 people as well and list their names. Don’t forget to let them know they’ve been tagged!”
WEIRDNESS NUMBER 1: I talk to myself when I'm alone (usually while driving).
WEIRDNESS NUMBER 2: Whem my mind wanders, sometimes it comes across an old memory of something I regret doing. When that happens, I visibly flinch, and/or say something to myself out loud like "Ow, I hate myself..."
WEIRDNESS NUMBER 3: I have a mild(??) addiction to porn. (god bless gaytorrent.ru)
WEIRDNESS NUMBER 4: I have a unique form of ADD where I am literally unable to pay attention to the lyrics of a song as its' playing. I need a printed copy of the lyrics in hand for me to fully grasp them, otherwise I ALWAYS get lost in the melody, no matter how hard I try to pay attention.
WEIRDNESS NUMBER 5: I have a Foot Fetish (nice feet are a turnon, poorly maintained feet are a HUGE turnoff)
WEIRDNESS NUMBER 6: I am *SO* lazy that when I read, I do it with one eye closed so I dont have to make the effort to focus with both eyes.

TAGGING: Fran, Diwa, Nicole, Sanya, Therese & Chong
JUST POPPING IN FROM SECLUSION
Just wanted to let y'all know about Sebastian's feature on clickthecity.com (with video!), which you can see Here.
Along with seeing how chunky I am, check out the size of my nostrils. ;p
(note to self: from now on, direct cameraman about avoiding worm's-eye view angles in future shoots. I feel like ANTM's Miss J herself is admonishing me....)

I'VE FOUND A NEW LOVE
Yes it's true..... and her name is Brandi Carlile. She's a singer-songwriter with an awesome voice and beautiful lyrics. After months of feeling bored and uninspired by absolutely everything that's been on the radio, I catch her almost accidentally on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. You know how you watch an artist for the very first time and it just gives you chills? Well, that's how she did it for me. (she even knows and collaborates with the Indigo Girls on her latest album, so that just makes her even MORE awesome.)
You can check out her performance here:
THE STORY
Brandi Carlile
All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true, I was made for you
I climbed across the mountain tops
Swam all across the ocean blue
I crossed all the lines and I broke all the rules
But baby I broke them all for you
Because even when I was flat broke
You made me feel like a million bucks
Yeah you do
and I was made for you
You see the smile that's on my mouth
Is hiding the words that don't come out
And all of my friends who think that I'm blessed
They don't know my head is a mess
No, they don't know who I really am
And they don't know what I've been through but you do
And I was made for you
All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true
I was made for you.

TARA, BILI NA TAYO SA 7-11!
Selecta has a new flavor or their Limited Edition "Creations" line which is exclusive to 7-11 outlets: Mango Cashew Overload, which going by the picture on the packaging, a cashew ice cream with more chopped cashews and a mango swirl.
Sounds familiar?
If you said it sounds awfully like my own Mango Sans Rival (cashew-buttercream ice cream with wafer pieces, cashews and a mango swirl) then give yourself a prize. And unlike Choc-nut ice cream (which I invented about a year before every major brand came up with their own version but I never followed through on therefore I can never prove it) I've had it in our alabang store and Good Earth Outlets for well over a year, so I KNOW that the people in charge are familiar with it.
As an aside, a friend of minetold me of a party where he met with a marketer who was tasked with coming up for a strategy for an unnamed big ice cream manufacturer. (there aren't that many of them, so it's not that hard to guess which one it might be) When he found out about Sebastians, he mentioned that his client has already listed us as a future threat for their marketshare of upscale clients. Seriously, that was like one of the coolest things someone ever told me. We're a THREAT!
Anyway. So Selecta now has a new flavor that looks SUSPICIOUSLY like one of mine (if you're familiar with Mango Sans Rival, check out both pics and tell me that it isnt, down to the swirls of mango and pieces of cashew), and I seriously couldnt be happier.
Yeah, you read that right. Unlike songs or programs, one can't trademark a recipe, just try to keep it secret as long as they can. And when it comes to something as straightforward as ice cream, there's not really much you can do. Back when Dreyer's came up with the very first Cookies n Creme (they also invented the firts Rocky Road; just some Ice Cream Trivia for y'all) when it became a hit, all the other guys came up with their own versions. In food, you can't really copyright something if it becomes a hit.
I've always said that one of my creative goals in ice cream was to come up with a flavor that would be replicated by the big boys. I'm not there yet, but it's a great start in that direction. Seriously, if somehow "Mango Cashew Overload" became as ubiquitous as Macapuno, Ube or Cookies & Creme, that would fulfill one of my Life's Goals.
Kaya bili na kayo!

SHEER AWESOMENESS
One of my favorite songs in the world done by one of my favorite artists in the world. All that's missing are some healthy hirsute hunks, and you've got Christmas.

GREETINGS FROM HO CHI MINH
...during a one hour layover at the Saigon Airport before taking another flight to Hanoi, where I'll be having a 5 day vacation with my family. It's interesting, this vacation; in that unlike say, Sydney or Tokyo or New York, I really have no preconcieved notions about what the city is like, and thus won't fall into the "checklist tourism" which I am usually guilty of doing. This will truly be a voyage of discovery for me, a true adventure.
It's also my first real vacation in ages since I started the new business, so it's going to be really sweet to not have to think about chruning and gallons and flavors for longer than just a 2-day weekend. I also get to cross off one of my Goals for 2007 (which has yet to be blogged... bad, bad me!) that I got to one place that I've never been to before. So this vacation is really all sorts of good for me.
But for now, am just enjoying the sweet free internet at the airport.
